Growth Spurts
back to Ramblings
Remember this little guy that I spotted back in early May?
He lives on a ranch that I pass every time I drive to town. He was born in the front pasture, right next to the road.
I hadn’t seen him for quite a while, but now he and his mom have been moved back into the front pasture. I was forced to park my car in a ditch and take some new photographs of him, just for your viewing pleasure. Butterfly, good sport that she is, contented herself with staying in the car and listening to NPR.

he's growing into those legs
|
My, how he’s grown!
He may be taking on a mature appearance, but he still cannot contain his curiosity.
 |
do you think his name is Snoopy?
|
He would come right up to fence, stretch his nose up to the top board, and whirl away with a snort if I offered my hand to him. Kids.

so cute - baby horse tail
|
I love baby horse butts and tails. They’re so cute. Even if he’s not so much of a baby anymore, he still has a cute tail.
As I got back into the car, Butterfly observed, “The grapes are ripening on the vines.”
This was her way of hinting, I’m pretty sure, that more pictures were in order.
Baby Trigger lives across the street from a vineyard, in case you couldn’t tell. They’ve done some pretty fancy rockwork, which Butterfly always admires when we drive by.
No thieving birds will be harvesting these grapes before their time! The entire vineyard has been protected with netting.
These are the grapes that Butterfly spied.
Last but not least, here’s a little sprite who could use a growth spurt but since she subsists on Fritos and caramels, it’s probably not going to happen.

even the zebra thinks she's funny
|
As we drove our Meals on Wheels route today, everybody complimented her on her colorful outfit. I’m pretty much chopped liver by comparison. I’m only good for driving and taking the temperature of the meals to make sure they meet Health Department standards..

I'm not sure she has enough color on the top half
|
Butterfly told me that one of her friends in church told her she looks forward to every Sunday to see what sort of wild outfit Butterfly will wear. The lady is amazed that Butterfly can find jewelry that actually matches the clothes she wears.
With a bracelet like that she can wear anything, don’t you think?
