Have I mentioned to you that I gratefully accept guest submissions?  Feel free to send me your photos, or funny stories, or whatever else you think might be worth sharing and if I think it’s worth the paper it’s written on, I just might not hit “delete”.  And just to be clear, I’m only interested in good clean fun. 

Mostly I’ll base my decision on what I think my faithful readers might be interested in seeing.  I’m pretty sure that what follows will get at least a smile out of most of you.  The fellow who sent the pictures asked to remain anonymous.  That’s really tough for me because I’ve been harassing him for nigh on to 40 years now.  But I respect his wish.  How can I not when I’m flying under the radar on my own blog?

So this guy I’ll call “Foot” sent me these photos of their sweet little April Fool baby.

Daisy gave birth on 4/1/09

Here is Daisy with her brand new heifer calf, as yet unnamed.  Daisy’s registered name is SJ Little Miss Daisy.

They don’t make faces much sweeter than that! 

Foot tells me that all the Longhorns are given flower names.  I pointed out that Oreo, the Longhorn steer living next door, isn’t named after a flower.

“Well, no, because he looks like a cookie,” said Foot.

“And,” I said, “Cowboy isn’t named after a flower.”

“He came to us with that name.  We couldn’t very well change his name.”

So perhaps we need to help Foot come up with a suitable flower name for the April Fool baby.  What do you think?
