Message:  Cool!!!  In a different light - I was playing Annie Oakley when I was a kid!  I was watching her on TV, had my beebee gun (forgot it was cocked) took aim at the bad guy on the TV screen and shot!  Well, can you just imagine how red my butt was after my parents got through with me????  OUCH!  Plus I had to pay for a new TV since I shattered the screen!  Lesson learned - no loaded gun in the house!  Well, heck - I had been out back riding my horse and shooting birds - how was I to remember that?! <<at this point, I told her she need her bottom blistered for shooting at the poor birds >> I must have had an epiphany because I couldn't shoot or hurt any living thing after that!!! Something really happened to me.  I even stopped the gopher trapping that I was doing to make some money!!!  I was raised a hunter and fisherman - duck, pheasant, deer, all types of fish (we were very poor) and that's what we had to eat, so we butchered our own cattle, killed chickens, etc.  HOWEVER, I couldn't do any of it anymore, and to the day my daddy died he never understood why or what happened to me!

Message:  What great photos of blackbird parent and babies, and even the cattail boat. Looks like a huge chore to me. Wonder how many hours it takes to chop away at cattails?
